Naos (Ancient Greek): Temple.
The very same of this lovely piece of jewelry is resting proudly behind a well-lit showcase in the Archaeological Museum of Nicosia. Dating back to 1600BC, the design features all the characteristic of geometrical elements of that era – a dome, a roof and spiral columns almost making up to a temple.
This design must have been a hit in ancient times as we can even see it being worn by a royal lady in one of the most famous Fayyum portraits in Ancient Egypt, during the Hellenistic period. Check the pictures to see the original in Nicosia Museum and the portrait of the royal lady wearing our timeless design back in the 1st century AD!
